Ambassador Madeleine K. Albright
U.S. Representative to the United Nations
799 United Nations Plaza
New York NY 100017

Dear Ambassador Albright:

Early in December students at the Broad Meadows Middle School in Quincy had the opportunity to hear IQBAL MASIH, a 12 year boy from Pakistan. Iqbal was visiting this country to receive a Human Rights Award as sponsored by Reebok.

Iqbal so impressed the students of RONALD ADAMS' class that they were prompted to contact me to assist them in their efforts to stop the abuse of children in Pakistan and other countries which abuse children and, also, to see to it that American citizens boycott those carpet factories in Pakistan which sell to the United States.

I am advising the City's Purchasing Agent to be very sensitive in the future when purchasing rugs for any City department. I would also strongly urge you, as the United States Representative to the United Nations, to do everything possible to see to it that the abuse of children throughout the world is stopped.

Thank you for your any assistance you can offer.

Sincerely,

JAMES A. SHEETS
MAYOR
